Carl Stevens, Jr. Makes History; First 10.5" Tire Import in the 6's

Englishtown (NJ) - Ten and a half inches is not a lot of tire to drag race. It was, however, enough tire for Carl Stevens, Jr. to use in order to become the first import to break the 7.0-second barrier for the class.

Going into the Landy's Speed Ultra Quick 8 Outlaw Event at Englishtown Raceway with a new pair of Garrett GT4202R turbochargers and a brand new fire-red paint job that has replaced the previous dark blue, Stevens and his team meant business from the start. In only the second round of qualifying, Carl piloted his red rocket to an amazing ET of 6.98 seconds at a blistering 204.88 MPH, becoming the first ever to do so in an import with 10.5" rubber.
