Garrett Dragster Continues to Dominate
Ron Lummus, driver of the Turbo By Garrett / Bothwell Motorsports Mustang, is thrilled with the powerful car he's pointing down the lanes this year.
Ron says,"Some people have looked at us and asked where we came from. All I can say is that we had great success in Sport Compact. We all have a passion for making cars go fast and it shows. It's been a great journey."
Ron is no stranger to high speed and winning as he holds multiple national and world records in other cars including an NHRA class record of 7.76 ET at 187.68 mph while racing the Turbo By Garrett / Bothwell Motorsports Pontiac Sunfire.
With the team's passion and drive, we are sure the racing will only improve as the season progresses. The largely volunteer team has worked with Garrett for four seasons and has built a solid relationship. With the new car and new series, Bothwell was up for a challenge they were all too happy to meet head on: a challenge to take on an entirely new form of racing for the team and to win!.
Our growing fan base should keep an eye out as Ron prepares to blow through many more racing records in the races to come.
Under the Hood
The all new Garrett GT Mustang is roaring to life with great success. The Pony has been boosted with twin GT4718R turbos to reach an all new level of astonishing, raw power.
The Garrett ball bearing cartridge has proven its worth in the highest level of motorsports, establishing itself as the bearing system of choice.Premier racing customers demand no less than the best in durability, reliability and power on demand. The high efficiency, high flowing GT wheels provide the massive airflow needed at launch for the high performance drag racing engine and Garrett turbochargers have withstood the harshest imaginable conditions time and time again without failing.
"We're trying to show that these Garrett turbos can produce the power needed to run with anyone regardless of engine size and demonstrate their unbelievable reliability by keeping the same turbos on the car all year long,"Gil Bothwell commented on race team's turbos." It's a tremendous product that's basically maintenance free - and we've seen no failures."
